Powertrain Laboratory


The Powertrain facilities of GARC have the state-of-art chassis dynamometer and engine dynamometer with world class Emission test
systems

  • There are various type of Vehicle Test Cells and Engine Test Cells with Emission Test Equipment for 4-Wheeler, 3-Wheeler and 2-Wheeler vehicle testing along with Climatic Vehicle Test Cell with Low Temperature Soak Room.
  • There is a specific Variable Temperature and Variable Volume (VT-VV) Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination (SHED) Chamber also available in this facility.
  • It also equipped with state-of-art utilities for Air Temperature, Pressure and Humidity Control for all the test cells along with central gas handling system, Eco-friendly fire fighting system and emergency power back-up.

Mileage Accumulation Chassis Dyno Laboratory

The type of tests that can be performed in the Mileage Accumulation facilities are as follows:

  • Standard endurance testing according EC, EPA, Indian, Japanese or other regulations
  • Specific Drive Cycles, e.g. customer defined accelerated endurance cycle, vehicle running in cycles, journey simulation, etc.
  • Customer defined (R&D) tests (e.g. in vehicle gearbox testing, simulated vehicle operational tests) & Performance Tests
  • The systems are equipped with Robot driving (Auto Pilot).

Auto Pilot

  • Advanced Computer Controlled driving robot for the test driving.
  • Operating Temperature Range : -40°C to +80°C
  • High degree of accuracy & repeatability for test results
  • Throttle & RPM Control, Load Variations, Tolerance limit, of the drive cycles can be changed/controlled as per the customer demand and need.
