Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC) aims for Industry-Institution collaboration for technology development. With this aim A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 9th Januray 2012 between GARC and VEL TECH Dr.RR& Dr.SR technical university for offering two programmes:
The bachelor programme is designed to expose the students to the advanced design and manufacturing techniques practiced by the automobile industries.
The mastersprogramme is designed mainly for the industry sponsored candidates. However, GATE qualified and self financing Non-GATE candidates shall also be enrolled depending upon the vacancies.
The students admitted in M-Tech programme will spend their first 2 semesters at VEL-TECH and the remaining two semesters at Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), Chennai.
The final year project work will be aligned to the on-going project activities available at GARC. Successful candidates will be awarded B.Tech / M.Tech degree by VEL-TECH University respectively as per its rules and regulations.
